Happy Easter

Happy Easter. We fill doubly blessed this Easter Season because General Conference is falling on Easter weekend. It is such a great opportunity for us to focus on the true meaning of the Holiday, the Resurrection of our savior Jesus Christ. I can think of no better way to draw near unto Him than by listening to His prophet and Apostles. Easter is such a great reminder the plan of salvation that our Heavenly Father has for us. It gives me strength to continue on and to work harder on enduring well the trials that we are given. Our Heavenly Father does love us.

It might seem a bit contradictory that I would go on about the true reason for the Easter holiday and then post a picture of a chick. Well this is the Easter card that I made for Clark. I am not a religious painter, and choose not to be, but to me chicks and springtime are great reminders of new life. Isn't that what the Resurrection is all about? New life, eternal life, and returning Heavenly Father.

Media

Here are a few more pieces from my media class. The love birds were an acrylic sand off technique and the moose and the owl were done with gouache and ink.

Pigs

These pieces were also done in acrylic. The full view of the pig was done in an acrylic/gloss medium sand off technique and the pig head was done with a packaging tape technique.

Acrylic

These are a couple of the acrylic pieces that I did for my media experimentation class this semester.
